Dr. Rasha Al Samara, MD FACP

Dr. Al Samara completed her Internal Medicine Residency at St. Joseph Hospital/Northwestern University, Chicago, IL in 2006; and her Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL in 2007. Shortly after, she joined Wayne State University Physician Group in Detroit, MI and served as an assistant professor of medicine at Wayne State University until May 2010.

Dr. Al Samara has received the Finberg award for excellence in geriatric care in 2006. She has given many lectures to medical students and residents, and she has participated in community outreach events. Dr. Al Samara has been in practice in Georgia since July 2010 and is currently a clinical instructor for medical students at the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Al Samara is American Board certified in both Internal Medicine and in Geriatric Medicine. She is a fellow member of the American College of Physicians.

Her professional interests include management of metabolic disorders, cognitive impairment, and applying preventive medicine. On June 28, 2010, Internal Medicine & Geriatrics Center of Winder began seeing patients in downtown Winder, Georgia. The office has been providing quality care for their patients over the past decade and hopes to continue doing so for the foreseeable future.
